Lent will be upon us soon. As a matter of fact, it falls on February 14th. On that day we could be confused between hearts and candy or ashes and fasting and abstinence. It could cause an “identity crisis”!
We have a lovely new feature for Lent this year and that is Deacon Alan Germain’s presentation on The Shroud of Turin, given in three sessions. Hopefully, many of you will attend all of the sessions to absorb the history and beauty of the Shroud, believed to be the “burial cloth of Christ”. Incidentally, the sessions will be publicized in our area parishes so as to invite more of the faithful to take part in experiencing the spirituality of the Shroud of Turin. So many of you enjoyed the Legionaries of Christ Brothers last year in Lent. I’m working on getting them back during Lent for another Lenten presentation. More information to follow.
