Christmas Letter & Schedule

Dear Parishioner(s),

As I write this, I’m thinking of an old Christmas Carol sung by Bing Crosby:

“Christmas is-a-comin and the egg is in the nog.”
Then I think, how tasty eggnog is…..especially
with a bit of rum in it, to get us in that Christmas
feeling. Here again is another Christmas
Carol by Bing Crosby: “I’ve got that Christmas
Feeling.”

May we take a trip back in mind and heart when our moms and grandmas were preparing us for Christmas. Dwell, for a moment, on all the Christmas decorations coming down from the attic to decorate the home. The times we put up the Christmas Tree. The playing of Christmas Carols on the record player or Victrola!! Our minds wander back to beautiful smells wafting throughout the house, especially coming from the kitchen.

Now, think that these are all gifts from God. These gifts that made Christmas perfect, culminating in the family attending mid-night Mass or Mass on Christmas Day.

In Rome, Pope Francis will open a Jubilee Year of grace and mercy for 2025 on December 24th. Also, we continue our Eucharistic Revival. How very thankful we should be for the Birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ and the graces and mercy the Christ – Child imparts to us.

If you haven’t been to Mass in a long time, I cordially invite to join us for Christmas Masses at St. Philip or St. Catherine of Siena Churches. Please help us fill the Churches with you, so that our voices will fill the Churches with the greatest treasures of the Christian Faith…..our beloved Christmas Carols. May that “old Christmas Feeling” return us to Christ, not only on Christmas but forever.

Merry Christmas,
Fr. Ron and Deacon Alan
