In response to the spread of the coronavirus, the Archdiocese of Hartford has canceled all Masses for parishes in the diocese
until the end of April.
This includes the liturgies of Holy Week, and details and suggestions will be shared in the coming days on how we can stay joined in spirit during this sacred time.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation has also been discontinued for the foreseeable future throughout the diocese.
The following is a summary of part of a recent Vatican decree on the sacrament:
Through God's love and mercy, the expression of true repentance brings full forgiveness for all sins at this time, with the individual seeking to celebrate the sacrament when
possible in the future.
For the time being, St. Philip Church will be open on Saturdays from 2:00-4:00 pm
for anyone who would like to visit
for prayer & reflection.
Please enter through the parking lot side-door, taking a seat in one of the marked pews
in the front part of the church while practicing
social distancing throughout your visit.
Next Tuesday, April 7, we will make our monthly visit to Loaves & Fishes in Enfield to deliver sandwiches to our friends in need. They're most grateful for our help during these difficult days so if you'd like to take part, just drop off your sandwiches in the special refrigerator in St. Catherine Church
basement between 9am-noon that day.
In light of the governor's call to
"Stay Safe, Stay Home" and the
postponing of Masses through next month,
I invite fellow members of
Saint Marianne Cope to join me in
Christian stewardship of treasure
in the coming days.
If you can, please mail your offertory envelopes to the parish office regularly or check out the Online Giving option here on the website to help meet our financial needs.
Many thanks to those who have been able to respond as we support the parish together.
United in prayer and reflection during this challenging time, may the Lord guide us and bring his healing peace to all.
