In response to the effects of the coronavirus, the Archdiocese of Hartford has extended the cancellation of Masses for parishes in the diocese until further notice.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation has also been discontinued for the foreseeable future.
Here is a summary of part of a recent
Vatican decree on the sacrament:
Through God's love and mercy, the expression of true repentance brings full forgiveness for all sins at this time, with the individual seeking to celebrate the sacrament in the
future when possible.
St. Philip Church is open Saturdays
from 2:00-4:00 pm for anyone who would
like to visit for prayer & reflection.
Please enter through the parking lot side-door, wearing a face covering and taking a
seat in one of the marked pews in the
front part of the church while practicing
social distancing throughout your visit.
In light of the continued
cancellation of Masses,
I invite fellow members of
Saint Marianne Cope to join me in
Christian stewardship of treasure
in the coming days.
If you can, please mail your offertory envelopes to the parish office regularly or check out the Online Giving option here on the website to help meet our financial needs.
Many thanks to everyone who has been able
to respond as we continue to support our
parish home together.
Easter booklets and other reflection items can be found in the parish office entranceway as well as the side door resource table at
St. Philip Church.
A Prayer of Hope
"God whispers when darkness falls,
and storms set in, be still and know I'm there.
When sunrise fills your room with light,
be still and know I'm there.
When days seem endless, or time too brief,
I am the way, the truth, the life,
be still and know I'm there."

FOODSHARE Truck at SMC
Thanks to everyone from our parish and other volunteers from our town who helped
with the recent Foodshare truck visit
at St. Catherine Church parking lot.
Once again we provided some extra food,
care, and assistance to those who can use
a helping hand during this difficult time.
The next Foodshare visit will
take place on May 29th.
God's blessings during this
Memorial Day weekend..
